Juice Detox Diet

Contrary to popular belief, the juice detox diet and juice fasting are not the same thing. While they are similar to each other there is a big difference between the two of them, and these differences will be discussed in this post with an emphasis on how to do a juice detox diet.

A juice detox diet is suitable for those who are interested in doing some kind of detox diet for the first time. Though drinking your juices is a core part of the detox, you are allowed to eat a limited amount of foods, which are introduced during the detox diet plan after a few days.

In reality it’s not normal to eat most foods found in the standard American diet (SAD) when doing the juice detox diet, however, it’s not as restrictive as a juice fast. Generally, you are pretty much drinking fruit and vegetable juice only for the first few days of the juice detox, and then for the past of the detox you can start having some food.

When you are trying a juice detox diet for the first time then having a juice detox might be the best solution for you because you benefit from it in many ways. The toxins in your body get eliminated quickly and while you are not on the juice fast you still get almost the same benefits as you would with being on the juice fast because the fruits and vegetables have a lot of minerals and vitamins in them that you would get with the juice fast but the juice fast does not clean out your system as fast like the juice detox diet does.

On the juice detox diet when all of those toxins start leaving your system you start to feel better and experience energy and many other things. When the toxins build up in your system it can cause a lot of health problems and make you feel both lazy and tired. That’s another reason why doing a juice detox first can help you out in many ways.

Another awesome thing is that there are lots of juice detox programmers that allow you to have both vegetable and fruits on your diet and you can have raw vegetables in your juice and whole fruit. Supplements can often times be added in your juice.

Sample Juice Detox Diet Plan:

Day One: Every few hours you’ll need to drink freshly squeezed vegetable or fruit juice. When you start feeling like you are thirsty while you are waiting for your next drink then you can have either herbal tea or filtered water.

Day Two: Follow the same steps as day one but with this day you can start adding other things such as three bananas and 1lb of grapes in your juice.

Day Three: On this day you repeat like above but you can now add in fruit or either raw vegetables of your choice.

Day Four to Seven: When it comes time to this part you can start adding in seeds, nuts, beans and whole grain cereals. When it gets to this part it becomes a detox diet that is based on the juices. However, something else you can do is have fruit juices in the day and then in the evening have clear vegetable broth.

How Long To Do A Juice Detox Diet?

It’s up to you as to how long you want to be on the juice detox diet. Typically they last for a few days up to one week. Most doctors say that it’s not healthy for you to be on it for over a week or more. Talk with your doctor of health practitioner before you start on the juice detox.

All liquid diets take some time getting used to. To be able to adjust better you should have a preparation plan in place before starting any juice detox diet. If you don’t feel extreme lightheadedness, stomach aches, or dizziness during the first day of the juice detox, then you could continue with the juice detox diet plan for two more days, followed by introducing foods in the diet.

In Conclusion

All in all, when done properly the juice detox diet can be a wonderful way to begin your detoxing career and even for people that might be veterans with detox diets.

There are lots of healthy benefits that come from juicing and the juice detox diet, and within a matter of days or weeks, you’ll be able to feel and see the results. If you are looking for a specific juice detoxification diet plan, you should check out The Definitive Detox Diet by Sandy Halliday.

Remember that detoxification is an ongoing process. You can’t follow a 7 day juice detox diet and think you have gotten rid of a lifetime’s accumulation of toxins. It doesn’t work like that. With that said, the 7 day juice detox can help to break any unhealthy eating habits that you might have had and can help reduce cravings for unhealthy foods. Moving forward, your appreciation for healthy foods will make you want to gag just from the thought of junk foods.

I can also tell you that a juice detox diet can help you to lose excess weight fast! On a well-designed juice detox you can expect you lose 1-3 lbs a day or more. But you don’t want to put any of this weight back on!

Following the juice detox program, with proper nutrition from a balanced diet plan, and making sure to avoid as many sources of toxins as you can after the detox, you will be able to encourage natural detoxification of the body, although it would still be a good idea to do a specific detox at least once a year.

The juice detox diet can be a great way to get your body back on track, but if you experience dizziness or lightheadedness, you may want to try other natural methods for cleansing. One popular alternative to juice cleansing is herbal fiber colon cleansing.

Great article. It took me 6 months with 5 or 6 juices a day and healthy food to recover from chronic fatigue. It’s true that you can still detox while eating food but it should be the right food. I often think that people expect miracles in a couple of days and don’t persevere long enough.

This sounds great! I’m very busy and sometimes scooping up a quick slice of pizza instead of eating something healthy makes me feel bloated and guilty. I’ll definitely have to try this and see how it goes. Hopefully I can get my energy back up!
