The Importance Of Proper pH Balance

Proper pH balance can play an important roll in your weight loss diet to fight and protect against disease. A balanced pH diet will ensure the proper quantities of alkalizing and acidifying foods in the diet.

It is impossible for disease to grow in a properly balanced acid-alkaline body!

The zone of optimal health is a pH of between 6.8 and 7.5. Anywhere outside of this level leaves you open to sickness and death.

Most of us are on the acidic side of the equation, you must balance this out.

An acidic body will feel a lack of energy, frequently feels cold, loss of enthusiasm, be irritable, have headaches, develop ulcers, the list goes on and on.

Without getting all technical, you should eat more alkaline foods than acidic foods for the optimal diet.

Alkalizing Foods:

Potatoes, green vegetables, colored vegetables, (except tomatoes), corn, organic milk, green juices, fresh fruit juice, mineral water, green tea, herbal tea, bananas, almonds, dates and raisins, black olives, avocados, cold pressed oils, chestnuts, and Brazil nuts.

Neutral Foods:

Butter (fresh, unsalted), margine, cream (fresh, raw), cow’s milk, oils (except olive oil), and yogurt (plain).

Acidifying Foods:

All meats and seafood, eggs, cheeses, (the stronger the cheese, the more acidic), animal fats (lard), vegetable oils, whole and refined grains (breads, pastas, and cereals), legumes, white sugar, walnuts, hazelnuts, pumpkin seeds, coffee, tea, cocoa, wine, mayonnaise, mustard and ketchup.

Important Tidbits:

A common misconception is that if a food tastes acidic, it has an acidifying effect on the body. This is not always true. Citric fruits such as lemons are a good example. People say that lemons are “too acidic”; however, once metabolized by your body they are actually very alkalizing because the citric acid in lemons is a weak acid. The body converts it into CO2 and water and the CO2 is exhaled by the lungs – only leaving the alkaline components of the lemon in the body.

Your body wakes up carb depleted so you wan’t to replenish it by eating a carbohydrate-rich breakfast. To keep your proper pH balance in check eat as many fruits and veggies as you want to start your day right.

Also know that your body also has to be able to expel acids properly. This is done through the kidneys, skin and lungs. But, when we are constantly packing the body full of chemicals and toxins that produce too much acid, not only does the body lack alkalizing nutrients to maintain a healthy pH balance, the pollutants cause our organs to loose their cleansing abilities. The liver and kidneys can no longer work properly and pretty much become useless.

The good news is that you can fix the pH imbalance in your body if its out of whack. The most important thing you can do to ensure these vital organs are working properly for their intended job is by cleansing your body’s organs, and eating more alkalizing, nutrient-rich foods. The Total Wellness Cleanse is a 30 day program that includes an initial cleansing period to help clean your organs and ensure they’re functioning as they should be.

Following these simple tips will keep your diet working over-time for your improved pH balance and well-being.
